Gloria Mae Chambers, 77

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gloria Mae Chambers, 77, of Mullan, Idaho, passed away February 28, 2016 at the Silver Wood Good Samaritan of Silverton, Idaho.  She was born May 4, 1938 in Wolverton, Minnesota; Gloria was the daughter of Gilbert B. and Esther (Olson) Erickson.

Gloria moved to the Silver Valley with her family as a young child.  She attended and graduated from the Mullan High School in 1956.

Gloria married Gary “Doc” Chambers on September 5, 1959 in Mullan, Idaho.

In earlier years, Gloria had worked at the Star Mine office and the Shoshone County Courthouse.  But most of all, she was a beloved wife, mom and homemaker.

Gloria was a member of the Sweet Adelines, the Mullan Bowling League and the Hummers Pinochle group.  She had also served for many years as a vocalist for funeral services and weddings.

Gloria loved watching basketball and was an avid Gonzaga fan.  She also enjoyed watching golf especially Tiger Woods and Greg Norman.  But most of all, she so loved and enjoyed her family.

Gloria is survived by her husband Gary “Doc” Chambers of Mullan; three children Jeff (Tami) Chambers of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Janet Bechen of Seattle, Washington and Jason (Masina) Chambers of Mullan, Idaho; six grandchildren Jeffrey Chambers, Jaron Tanner, Leo Tanner, Keven Bechen, Kelsey Bechen and Marley Chambers; two great-grandchildren and one on the way; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.

A Celebration of Gloria’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 12:00 Noon, at the Morning Club of Mullan with Pastor Art Fleming officiating.  A reception/luncheon will be held after the Celebration, at the Morning Club.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Morning Club, c/o City of Mullan, P.O. Box 475, Mullan, Idaho 83846.
