Fred Lero Adams, 66

Fred Lero Adams, 66, of Page, Idaho, passed away August 31st at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg.  He was an adored husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  Fred was born March 4, 1950 in St. Maries, Idaho; he was the son of Leroux and Hazel (McCartney) Pease.  In 1980, he married Janet (Bennett) Adams, who survives him at his family home in Page Idaho.  Fred is also survived by his five daughters, Amy Christensen of Salt Lake City, Utah, Karen (Ryan) Carson of San Pedro, California, Shannon Shelton of Amanda Park, Washington, Rhonda (Mark) Duce of Kellogg, Idaho and Joanna Adams of Page, Idaho; thirteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother John Adams of Great Falls, Montana; three sisters Bertha Clanton of Bayview, Idaho, Patti Houchin of Wallace, Idaho and Peggy Corbin of Arizona.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Fred was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Betty Carmen and Helen Nelson.

Fred was raised in Montana before moving to California, where he served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war.  In 1977, he settled in Kellogg, Idaho, where he worked for the Bunker Hill Mining Company at the zinc plant.  After the closure of Bunker Hill, Fred held positions at the State of Idaho Health and Welfare, Idaho Children Services, State of Idaho Department of Youth Detention and retired after fourteen years as a Youth Specialist at Anchor House of Coeur d’ Alene.

In his free time, Fred enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.

A Celebration of Fred’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 1:00 P.M. at the Mountain View Congregational Church in Kellogg, Idaho.  A reception and a gathering of family and friends will be held in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service; this will be potluck and everyone is welcome.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Silver Valley Veterans Memorial, P.O. Box 428, Kellogg, Idaho 83837.
