Emil Fattu Jr., of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away on October 21, 2016 at his home in Kellogg. He was born on May 3, 1945 in Kellogg; Emil was the son of Emil Sr. and Hazel (Waldrip) Fattu.
Emil was raised in the Silver Valley and lived here his entire life. He graduated from Kellogg High School in 1963 and went on to earn a master’s degree from the University of Idaho.
Emil worked as a metallurgist in the mining industry. He worked for the Sunshine and Bunker Hill Mines and for a mine in Montana for a time as well as the E.P.A. He married Jeanie Beeding in 1984.
Emil enjoyed making wine, jet boat races, and studying the stars. He was a man of many hats; he was a photographer and a chemist.
Emil is survived by his wife, Jeanie Fattu of Kellogg; his brothers Dale and Charles Fattu both of Spokane, Washington; his sisters Barbara Flay of Fresno, California and Arlene Fix of Spokane. He is also survived by his nieces Brenda Hook, Sarah Logan and Holly Flay; and his nephews Jonathan and David Fattu and Jesse, Matthew and Danny Davis.
Cremation will take place and private family services at a later date.
