Eilleen Sink, 80
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Eilleen Sink, 80, formerly of Wallace, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at her home in Kellogg. She was born April 17, 1939 in Tucumcari, New Mexico; Eilleen was the daughter of Tony and Annie (Martinez) Ortiz.
Eilleen attended and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School. She then went on to attended Eastern Washington University where she received an education degree. She later went on to attend University of Idaho to further her education.
In 1964, Eilleen was united in marriage to George Sink in Wallace. Together they raised three children. George passed away in 2017.
Eilleen was a school teacher for many years. She taught at the Wallace, Mullan and Marsing school districts over her career. She taught Language Arts, Social Studies, Spanish and ran the school news paper. Also during this time Eilleen and George opened Lookout Ski Shop in Wallace in 1974. They later moved the Ski Shop to Kellogg in the early 1990’s.
In her free time Eilleen enjoyed volunteering for the grandmothers club. She also enjoyed traveling, golfing, reading and doing arts and crafts. Eilleen loved nothing more than spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eilleen is survived by her three children Renee (Arthur) Payeur, Dean Sink and Ron (Terri) Sink; nine grandchildren Matthew, Tony, Christopher, Jessica, Jordan, Ashley, Sarah, Julie and Carol; 21 great-grandchildren; five siblings Loretta Snyder, Joe Ortiz, Anna Murphy, Ida Weasor, Virginia Shiriner. Eilleen is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George and siblings Tony Ortiz and Lee Ortiz.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
