Edmund Zupan

Edmund Anthony Zupan, 91

Beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Edmund Anthony Zupan,91, of Kingston Idaho, passed away at the family homesite in his son's arms January 14, 2020. He was born August 23rd 1928 in Cleveland Ohio to Michael and Antonia (Miklavcic) Zupan.

Edmund was the second oldest of four children born to this family which originated from Slovenia back in the early 1900's. Ed served in the United States Army during World War II where he was stationed in Japan. This was one of his most memorialable times as he grew to love the area and the Culture of the Japanese people. As photography being one of his favorite hobbies and past job before joining the service, he took many photos of the culture, people and of his beloved Army mates while stationed there. He had a tremendous eye for photography and has taken many beautiful photos over the years. He returned home in 1947.

Edmund met his wife Olive Marie Proudy at Venice Beach California where he lived for several years. On May 8th 1959 they were united in Marriage in California and started their family with their son Gregory born to them in Santa Monica,CA. in 1960. In 1968 Edmund and Olive moved to the Silver Valley where Edmund went to work for the Sunshine Mine and quickly moved up rank to Shaft Repair Supervisor before retiring in 1990. Ed also worked for several other places during his life including General Motors, a title company in California and Karco Electronics where he designed a machine to make the nose cone for the Apollo Space craft as well as designed and installed the Gyro systems for Skylab at Langley Field.

Edmund loved and enjoyed his family and life itself. He loved skin diving the California coastline for Abalone, fishing the lakes of Montana with his best friend Jim Ostoj, hunting in the Mountains of Northern Idaho and snowmobiling every trail possible. He enjoyed and loved having family and friends over for a get together and especially the great-grandchildren.

Edmund is survived by his son Gregory and wife Michele Zupan, ex-daughter in law Cindy Zupan, four grandchildren and two step grandchildren Heather Lindsley, Stefanie(Jared) Hanks, Darren(Jordan)Zupan,Janell(Darin) Anthis, Erik Davies and Westley Davies as well as several great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Marie Zupan and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife and two brothers, Norbert and Denis Zupan.

He will always be our "Pure of Heart" Prince!
