Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister and friend, Edith Anthis, 90, of Wenatchee, Washington (formerly of the Silver Valley) passed away July 9, 2016 at the Delight Seniors Family Home of Wenatchee. She was born September 16, 1925 in Illinois; Edith was the daughter of John Everett and Elsie May (Pope) Kramer.
Edith grew up and attended school in Illinois. On April 20, 1946, Edith was united in marriage to Ben Anthis in Kentucky; he preceded her in death in 2014. They moved to the Silver Valley in the early 1960’s.
Edith was a homemaker most of her life; she also spent time working in a bullet factory during World War II.
Edith loved crocheting, knitting and needlepoint. She also enjoyed camping and spending time with her beloved family and pets.
Edith is survived by her family, two sons, Gordon (Viola) Anthis and Gary Anthis, all of Pinehurst, Idaho; one daughter, Vonda (Pete) Cotsford of Moses Lake, Washington; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Fred (Dot) Kramer of Illinois, John (Joyce) Kramer of Osburn, Idaho, and Orville (Jackie) Kramer of Yakima, Washington; her sister Patricia (Ray) Owens of Yakima and numerous nieces and nephews. Edith is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Lloyd Kramer, daughter-in-law Lendera Anthis, and sister-in-law Mary Kramer.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel of Kellogg with Pastor Art Fleming officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Kellogg.
