Donnie Ray Walker, 67, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away April 18, 2014 at the Northern Idaho Advanced Care Hospital of Post Falls, Idaho. He was born September 30, 1946 in Joplin, Missouri; Donnie was the son of Andrew and Eva (Jenkins) Walker.
Donnie attended and graduated from the Kellogg High School of Kellogg in 1963. He has lived in the Silver Valley all of his life.
Donnie had worked at the Bunker Hill Smelter and Mill for several years. He then went to work for the U.S. Forest Service fighting fires and blazing trails.
Donnie married Candice E. Howard on October 15, 2003 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Candice passed away April 4, 2014.
Donnie loved and enjoyed pool and darts and had participated in many tournaments receiving many trophies and awards. He also enjoyed floating the river.
Donnie is survived by his mother Eva Walker of Kellogg; three sons Donnie Walker, Jr. of Kellogg, Robert Walker of Phoenix, Arizona and Andrew Walker of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins including Sue and Ed Christmann of Post Falls, Idaho, Mark and Liz Young of Post Falls, Calvin and Donna Walker of Kellogg and Cliff Shiner of Kellogg. Donnie was preceded in death by his father Andrew Walker and his sister Nancy Shiner.
Cremation will be held and upon his request, no memorial services will be held.
