Donna Burmeister

Donna May Burmeister, 96

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, Donna May Burmeister, 96, of Silverton, Idaho, passed away February 15, 2020 at the Good  Samaritan Society-Silver Wood Village of Silverton.  She was born September 21, 1923 in Wapato, Washington; Donna was the daughter of Leo and Ida (Yearout) Prichard.

Donna has lived in the Silver Valley for most of her life.

Donna was united in marriage to William “Harry” Burmeister on August 24, 1943 in Superior, Montana; they were married for seventy-six years.  Harry passed away on January 8, 2020.

Donna had served as a bookkeeper for Steins Market of Kellogg for many years.  She had also served as a clerk for Gary’s Drug in Kellogg and Pinehurst.  After moving to Juliaetta, Idaho, Donna and Harry owned and operated the Juliaetta Market for twenty years.

Donna was a member of the Shoshone Golf club, the Grandmothers Club, and bridge and pinochle groups (she had played bridge every week).

Donna loved and enjoyed her family, knitting, crocheting and cooking.

Donna is survived by five children Doug and his wife Gloria Burmeister of Big Creek-Kellogg, Jan Burks of Buena Vista, Oregon, Mark Burmeister of Big Creek-Kellogg, Debbie and her husband Phil Batchelder of Priest Lake, Idaho, Chris and his wife Elsa Burmeister of Coeur d’ Alene River-Kingston, Idaho; fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Donna was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, her daughter-in-law Pam Burmeister, her husband Harry and one daughter Marilyn Armour.

Memorial Services for both Donna and Harry will be held and announced at a later date.
