Donald Milholland

Donald “Donnie” Ray Milholland, 70, of Smelterville, Idaho, passed away October 7, 2015 at the Hospice House of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. He was born July 1, 1945 in Kellogg, Idaho; Donnie was the son of Albert and Helen (Tyanich) Milholland.

Donnie has lived in the Silver Valley all of his life. He attended schools in Silver King and Kellogg. Donnie married his beloved wife of fifty years, Carolyn “Kay” Maxson on July 10, 1965 in Kellogg.

Donnie has served as an equipment operator for many years in both the logging and mining industries. He had gold mined in Eagle Creek for fifteen years. Donnie owned and operated Don’s Bobcat Service, as well as, Milholland’s Trailer Park of Smelterville. He had also worked on the Superfund Project since its inception; he retired eight years ago.

Donnie was a member of the Silver Valley Worship Center of Smelterville, Idaho. He loved and enjoyed his family, fishing, hunting and having breakfast and conversation every morning, with the Liars Club; Donnie loved telling stories.

Donnie is survived by his wife Carolyn “Kay” Milholland of the family home of Smelterville, Idaho; two sons David (Kim) Milholland of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and Joseph (Shalana) Milholland of Wallace, Idaho; six grandchildren; two brothers Everett (Colleen) Milholland of Lewiston, Idaho and Albert (Patty) Milholland of Pinehurst, Idaho; two sisters Jo (Dan) Hotchkiss of Grandview, Washington and Mitzi White of Kennewick, Washington; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and three children.

A Celebration of Donnie’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 4:00 P.M. at the Silver Valley Worship Center of Smelterville, Idaho with Pastor Corey Berti officiating. A reception/dinner will be held at the Church Fellowship Hall following services. Private Family Graveside Services will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery of Kellogg.
