Dennis Leroy O’Shea, 71
Dennis Leroy O’Shea of Mullan, Idaho, passed away April 16, 2016 at his home after a courageous two year battle with cancer.  He was born June 20, 1944 in Kellogg, Idaho.  Dennis was the son of Leo and Lois (Latrinta) O’Shea.
While serving in the U.S. Navy, Dennis met and married Susan Mary Guzman on January 12, 1970 in Fremont, California.  Dennis and Susan moved to Mullan, after being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1972.
Dennis served ten years in the U.S. Navy and was a Viet Nam Veteran, serving three tours of duty.  After his military service, Dennis was employed by Hecla Mining Company at the Lucky Friday Mine in Mullan as a miner and a hoistman for 36 years.
In his free time, Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATV riding, and enjoying a cold beverage with friends and family at the Outlaw Tavern in Mullan.  Dennis was also a great story teller and enjoyed sharing his great stories with friends and family.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan.  His three children, Tina(George) Houchin of Osburn, Idaho, Elaine (Dennis) Althoff of Waynesville, North Carolina, and Bryan O’Shea of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Nicole (Brandon) Smith of Lincoln, Delaware,  Michael Althoff of Apex, North Carolina, Jeffrey (Crystal) Chambers of Pearland, Texas, Kelsi & Cassidy Houchin of Osburn, Idaho, Patrick & Alex O’Shea of Sandpoint, Idaho, one great granddaughter Jordan Smith of Lincoln, Delaware and one on the way (Romy Mae Chambers of Texas). He is also survived by two brothers, Michael & Terry O’Shea.  Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Patrick & Timothy O’Shea.
Cremation will take place and a celebration of Dennis’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to The Captain John Mullan Museum, P.O. Box 675, Mullan, Idaho 83846.
