Delbert “Del” Richard Marcy, 80, of Coeur d’Alene, ID and formerly of Kellogg, ID, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on November 2, 2022, at Bestland Senior Living Community located in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Del was born on September 6, 1942 in Kellogg, ID, a son of the late Elbe Marcy and Violet Rieken Marcy.
Del attended local Kellogg schools and graduated from Kellogg High School, Class of 1961. After graduation, he became a miner and had moved throughout the western United States to mine with various companies.
He was involved with mine rescue operations, a member of the Masons in Cataldo, ID, the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Kellogg, ID, the Eagles in Republic, WA, and the Lions Club in Smelterville, ID.
Del loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and going 4-wheeling. He also enjoyed golfing, dancing, woodworking, socializing, and doing a little gambling.
In addition to his parents, Del is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Robbins; and former wife Kay Marcy.
Survivors include his four children, Jon (Joanna) Marcy of Winchester, VA, Jill Marcy of Winchester, VA, Delbert Jr. “DJ” (Dawn) Marcy of Lewiston, ID, and Caleb Marcy of Post Falls, ID; two step-children, Jim (Arlene) Carney of Cataldo, ID, and Tammy (Don) Coy of Post Falls, ID; a sister, Jean (Bill) Sage, of Coeur d’Alene, ID; former wives, Patricia Irvine and Virginia Marcy; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
A celebration of Del’s life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, 11:00 AM, at Shoshone Funeral Services, 106. S. Main St., Kellogg, ID. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg.
