Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Dawn Loraine Mattmiller of Kellogg, Idaho passed away on September 17, 2015 in Denver, Colorado. She was born August 5, 1927 in Dillon, Montana. Dawn was the daughter of Merritt and Marion (Kennison) Barnes.
Dawn grew up and attended schools in Rupert, Montana and attended the University of Idaho.
Dawn married John Nolan Mattmiller in 1948 and moved to Kellogg. He preceded her in death in 1966. At that time Dawn took over his Real Estate. Later she obtained a Bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees, one in Nutrition. Dawn worked for several years as a dietician and continued working in Real Estate for many more years.
She loved crafts, sewing, making quilts and wall hangings. Dawn also enjoyed socializing with friends and playing bridge.
Dawn is survived by her two daughters, Ari (Nikki Mattmiller) Deutchman of Denver, Colorado and Heidi Wood of Kellogg, Idaho; four grandchildren, Scott Wood, Jodie Murinko, Storey Lee Wood, and Brenna Deutchman; four siblings, Mike Barnes, Patricia Graham, Tony Barnes and Ricky Barnes, all of Rupert; four great-grandchildren; and her son-in-law Mark Deutchman. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant son, John (Chipper).
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2015 11A.M. at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg.
