David Thomas

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, David “Buck” Howard Thomas, Jr. of Kingston, Idaho, passed away June 12, 2015 at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, Idaho. He was born June 4, 1948 in Wallace, Idaho. Buck was the son of David and Jeanne (Martin) Thomas, Sr.

Buck was a hard worker and spent most of his days working in the woods as a logger. His dream was always to own his own logging truck and recently made that dream come true. Buck was the owner and operator of Buckwheat Trucking.

On October 13, 1990, Buck was united in marriage to Jani Hartman in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

When Buck wasn’t working to provide for his family, he could be found working on his beloved truck, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time in the great outdoors. Buck enjoyed spending time with his family that he loved dearly. Buck had a heart of gold and would doing anything for anyone at a drop of a hat. If he had it, he would give it, that was the kind of man Buck was.

Buck is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Jani of the family home in Kingston; his six children Janet (Tony) Utley of Elko, Nevada; Michael (Theresa) Thomas of Nampa, Idaho; Kim (Cody) Shorb of Shidler, Oklahoma; Robin Dahlin of Shidler Oklahoma; Amy (James) Davis of Richland, Washington and Adam Thomas of Kingston, Idaho; two brothers Mike (Cheryl) Thomas of Kingston, Idaho and Al (Paige) Thomas of Kingston, Idaho; two sisters Kathleen (Gary) Joyner of Kingston, Idaho and Judy (Bob) Smith of Butte, Montana; seven Grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Elmer and Opal Martin, brother LaVern and a nephew Casey Thomas.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 19, 2015, at 1:00p.m. at the Silver Valley Worship Center of Smelterville, Idaho with Todd Cochrane officiating. A Visitation will be held the night before on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel. Following services, burial will take place at the Hunt Cemetery in Kingston, Idaho.
