Clyde H. Madry, Jr., 84, of Kellogg, ID, passed away on August 27, 2024 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Clyde was born on June 15, 1940 in Halifax County, NC, a son of the late Clyde Madry, Sr. and Mary (Walker) Madry.
He married Beth Lahd on February 29, 1980 at the top of Silverhorn ski area in Kellogg, ID. Clyde was a proud US Army veteran having served our country for over 14 years. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star during his service in Vietnam. Clyde was also a captain and a member of the Corps of Engineers for numerous years. After rejoining civilian life, he worked as a civil engineer at Prudoe Bay AK, then at Bunker Hill, and later in Cd’A, UT and WI.
Clyde was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, watching wildlife, skiing, and gardening. He was also a skilled woodworker and owned a shop called Wallace Woodworks in the 1990’s.
Survivors include his loving wife, Beth Madry of Kellogg, ID; his son, Kevin Madry of Highlands Ranch, CO; two daughters, Kimberly Madry Forbis of Wake Forest, NC and Amanda Arndt of Auburn, WA; seven grandchildren, Zachary, Morgan, Colton, and Tatum Forbis, Chandler and Haley Madry, and Chloe Arndt.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, 11:00 AM at Shoshone Funeral Services, 106 S. Main St., Kellogg, ID.
