Claud Wesley Ashcraft, 88, of Silverton, Idaho, passed away February 14, 2014 at the Silver Wood Good Samaritan of Silverton. He was born May 8, 1925 in Las Animas, Colorado; Claud was the son of Claud Cleveland and Olive (Gruber) Ashcraft.
Claud attended and graduated from the Las Animas High School of Las Animas, Colorado in 1943. He then attended and received his Bachelors Degree from Western Maryland College.
Claud married Phyllis Geiser on August 8, 1953 in Dallas, Texas; Phyllis passed away in January of 1991.
Claud served as a career veteran- Chief Warrant Officer for the U.S. Coast Guard. He moved to the Silver Valley in 2012 from Seattle, Washington.
Claud is survived by two sons Cleve Ashcraft and his wife Susan Dahlberg of Kingston, Idaho, Paul (Donna) Ashcraft of Northeast, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren Ryder, Marah, Bekka, Sam, Morgan and Ryan; one brother Irwin Ashcraft of California; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Claud was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Phyllis and two brothers.
Cremation will be held and upon his request, no services will be held.
