Clara L. “Sis” “Aunt Sis” Leischner, 95
Clara L. “Sis” “Aunt Sis” Leischner, 95, a lifetime resident of Wallace, Idaho, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2016, while residing in Good Samaritan- Silver Wood Village of Silverton, Idaho. She was born September 10, 1920 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; Clara was the daughter of Carl Dewey and Eva Gertrude (Swaim) Clark; she was the oldest of their six children.
On October 26, 1946, Clara married the love of her life, Walter Lloyd “Walt” Leischner in Missoula, Montana. They had two children, Patricia “Patti” Anne in 1950 and James Walter “Jim” in 1953.
Clara had worked for many years as a clerk in the Tabor’s Office Supply store in Wallace. She later worked as an office clerk at the United Church of Christ Congregational also of Wallace. Clara was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Clara was a member of the Esther Rebekah Lodge, a member of the Wallace Lady Elks and a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational of Wallace. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, her great cooking, her love of travel, summertime picnics and dancing, plus her wicked sense of humor.
Clara is survived by her daughter Patricia “Patti” (Mark) McDonald of Spokane, Washington, her son James Walter “Jim” Leischner of Silverton, Idaho; her granddaughter Shannon McDonald; her nieces Carlena (Dwain) Larsen, Gloria (David) Williams, Jean (Clark) Collins, and Vicki (Ray) Powell; her nephews Jerry (Julie) Clark, Kenneth Clark, Bud (Marlesse) Baines, Jay Baines, Eddie (Sheri) Clark, Dennis Clark, Steve (Jeanne) Peterson, Duane (Jewel) Peterson and Dale (Pam) Peterson; her great-niece Sarah J. (Clark) Henry. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, all five of her younger siblings- Jack, Don, Ted, Mabel and Bernice, her husband Walt Leischner in 1991, her nephew Vern Clark and her grandson James Walter McDonald.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel of Kellogg with Pastor Alice Ling officiating. A gathering of family and friends and a reception will be held at the Brooks of Wallace, following services. Clara will be laid to rest beside her late husband Walt at the Coeur d’ Alene Memorial Gardens of Coeur d’ Alene.
