Charles “Jim” James Assels, Sr., 87, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away October 18, 2013 at the family home of Osburn. He was born December 8, 1925 at Norma, North Dakota; Jim was the son of Charles and Emma (Nelson) Assels.
Jim attended schools in Norma, North Dakota. He moved to the Silver Valley in 1981 from North Dakota.
Jim married Carol Ann Boucher on June 6, 1958 at Great Falls, Montana; Carol passed away December 6, 1992.
Jim had served as a construction laborer, a farmer and had worked at the Bunker Hill Mining Company and the Jackass Ski Lodge.
Jim was a member of the Laborers Union Local #238. He loved and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, yard work, ATVing and yelling at referees and umpires at televised sporting events.
Jim is survived by two sons Charles (Robin) Assels of Osburn, Michael Assels of Kellogg; his grandsons Charles, Daniel and Michael, Jr.; his granddaughters Stacey, Dawn, Tammy and Lisa; Jim is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and his sister Carrie Nelson of Minot, North Dakota.
Cremation was held and private family services will be held.
