Charlene Mckinnon

d. November 6, 2015

Beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Charlene went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society in Silverton.

Charlene grew up in the Silver Valley and graduated from Wallace High School in 1962. Following her graduation, in 1963, Charlene married the love of her life, Wally McKinnon of 52 years.

Charlene was a friend to the young, teaching the bible to young kids at Real Life Ministries. Charlene was a friend to the sick, working in the office at Mountain Health in Kellogg for 23 years. She was a friend to the community, spending countless hours with the Silver Valley Stitchers and The Wilted Quilters. She was a friend to the hurting, volunteering her time at the cancer resource center. Charlene was a friend to the old, spending many days at the Good Samaritan Society, where she spent the last few remaining weeks of her life.

Charlene is survived by her beloved husband Wally of the family home in Silverton; Three daughters, Cheri (Ray) McKinnon of Wallace, Idaho, Ronda (Andy) Jones of Post Falls, Idaho, Brenda (Gary) Kraack of Post Falls, Idaho; Mother Maxine Nelson of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and her sister Newtie (Mike) Moore of Spokane Valley, Washington. Charlene is also survived by her beloved grandchildren; Shayla (Matt), Krista (Cyle), Maryssa, Miranda (Tyler) Kala, Jake (Jessa) and Olivia; Great-grandchildren Lillianna, Aiden, Jazmine, Zane, Carter, Keegan, Kaylee and Brantley. Charlene was preceded in death by her father Charlie Burgen, step-father Dick Nelson, daughter Kimberly, niece Deborah and sister-in-law Eleanor Angle.

To all who knew Charlene, knew that she was a wealth of friendship, love and faith. Charlene believed that being honest with one another was the key to mending wounds. Charlene lived her life to the fullest serving the community in the valley, but most importantly her family. Charlene spoiled each and every one of her family members, not relenting even through the hardships cancer would bring.

Honorary Pallbearers include Judy Hoffman, Connie Fudge, Diana Margason, Dee Miller and all the ladies of the Wilted Quilters and Silver Valley Stitchers.

“Our dear nanny loved her Jesus, and she loved our family. She has always been looking out for us, and we know that she always will.” - A very loved family.
