Cecil Darwin McNutt, 76

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Cecil Darwin McNutt, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away March 28, 2016 at the Hospice House of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born December 20, 1939 in Ponderay, Idaho. Cecil was the son of Elva and Opal (Harris) McNutt.

Cecil grew up on the family farm in the Sandpoint area. He then went to serve in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. On January 5, 1962 Cecil was united in marriage to Inge (Strubel) in Alzey, German. They lived there for several years before moving back to Idaho.

Cecil was a jack of many trades. He worked in the Bunker Hill, Crescent and Sunshine Mines. He also spent time working as a welder, log and a long haul truck driver. He owned several businesses here in the Silver Valley including the Laundromat and Quick Lube in Pinehurst. Cecil loved the outdoors and especially loved fishing on Coeur d’Alene Lake.

Cecil is survived by his wife Inge of the family home in Pinehurst, Idaho; four children Shannan McNutt of Pinehurst, Idaho, Cecil Jr. (Lynnette) McNutt of Juneau, Alaska, Dana (Tom) Robinson of Cataldo, Idaho and Peter (Kari) McNutt also of Cataldo, Idaho; eight grandchildren Heidi, Dugan, McKenna, Kylie, Casey, Amber, Julia and Jasper and six great-grandchildren and two faithful companions Buster and Buddy. He is also survived by four siblings Ervin (Marge) McNutt, Jack (Sue) McNutt, Delman “Shorty”
McNutt and Leona (Mike) Taylor and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
