Bonnie Bigger

June 4, 1931 — May 21, 2014


Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Bonnie June Bigger, 82, of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho (formerly of the Silver Valley) passed away May 21, 2014 at the Lacrosse Health & Rehabilitation Center of Coeur d’ Alene. She was born June 4, 1931 in Rogers, Arkansas; Bonnie was the daughter of Orley and Jewell (Givens) Gatlin.

Bonnie attended and graduated from the Rogers High School of Rogers, Arkansas.

Bonnie first married Wallace Rutherford in 1950 in Oklahoma; they later divorced. She then married George Bigger in 1963 in Las Vegas, Nevada; George passed away in May of 2000.

Bonnie and her family moved to the Silver Valley in 1964 from Oklahoma.

Bonnie had first served as a chef and had worked in various restaurants; she then owned and operated BJ’s Café of Kellogg. Bonnie had also worked for the Kellogg Police Department of Kellogg and the Shoshone County Sheriffs Office as a deputy.

Bonnie was a member and past president of the Osburn Ladies V.F.W. #1675 auxiliary; she also held various other offices and was very involved in the auxiliary- she so enjoyed helping and taking care of veterans. Bonnie was also a member of the Kellogg Bowling League and was very involved in school activities and functions when her children were younger.

Bonnie loved and enjoyed her family, cooking, baking, arts and crafts, traveling and reading.

Bonnie is survived by four children Preston Rutherford and (Tricia Forbes) of Post Falls, Idaho, Sammy (Karen) Rutherford of Arkansas, Virginia Rutherford of Washington and James (Monica) Rutherford of Washington; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; one brother Glenn (Betty) Gatlin of California; Bonnie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her second husband George Bigger, two sisters and a great-grandson.

Cremation will be held; services are pending and will be announced soon.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Osburn V.F.W. #1675, P.O. Box 1091, Osburn, Idaho 83849 or to the charity of the Donor’s choice.
