Ben William Anthis, 92, of Wenatchee, Washington (formerly of the Silver Valley) passed away November 20, 2014 at the Delight Seniors Family Home of Wenatchee. He was born October 6, 1922 in Gideon County, Missouri; Ben was the son of John and Janie (Hardy) Anthis.

Ben married Edith Kramer on April 20, 1946 in Kentucky. Ben, Edith and family moved to the Silver Valley in the early 1960’s from Illinois.

Ben had worked for the Bunker Hill Mining Company Zinc Plant for twenty plus years, until its closure in 1981.

Ben loved and enjoyed his family, cutting firewood, camping, fishing, farming and gardening.

Ben is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-eight years Edith Anthis of Wenatchee, Washington; two sons Gordon (Viola) Anthis of Pinehurst, Idaho and Gary Anthis of Pinehurst, Idaho; one daughter Vonda (Pete) Cotsford of Moses Lake, Washington; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, five brothers and his daughter-in-law Lendera Anthis.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel of Kellogg with Rev. Art Fleming officiating. Interment will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery of Kellogg.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the charity of the Donor’s choice.
