Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ann V. Millard Mooney, 86, of Silverton, Idaho, passed away March 21, 2014 at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg. She was born August 11, 1927 in Commerce, Oklahoma; Ann was the daughter of Charles Hubert and Susan Marie (Hartman) Mayberry.
Ann attended schools in Oklahoma and Colorado. She married William Mooney on August 11, 1951 in Pueblo, Colorado. Ann and William moved to the Silver Valley in the 1950’s. William Mooney passed away in 1978. Ann then married Melvin “Mutt” Millard on March 17, 1980 in Spokane, Washington; Melvin passed away in 1996.
Ann had first worked for the Kansas Ordnance Plant installing primer fuses in bombs during the WW II effort. After moving to the Silver Valley, Ann had worked at the Providence Hospital of Wallace as a nurses aide. She had also worked for the Rice’s Bakery of Wallace and lastly for the Stewart Wallace Drug Store for twenty plus years.
Ann was a member of the Silver Valley Pen & Quill club and a member of the Wallace Senior Center.
Ann loved and enjoyed her family, gardening, painting, writing, cribbage and pinochle.
Ann is survived by two sons Charles (Donella) Mooney of Silverton, Idaho and William (Karen) Mooney of Silverton; five grandchildren Wendy (Lane) Whiteside of Silverton, Jim Mooney of Osburn, Jared (Pam) Watson of Star, Idaho, Casey (Billie) Mooney of Wallace and Shon (Larissa) Mooney of Germany; five great-grandchildren Rebecca, Charleigh, Alissa, Jhett and Asher. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands William Mooney and Melvin Millard and seven brothers and sisters.
Cremation was held and private family services will be held.
