Alice Mae McBrien, 92
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Alice Mae McBrien of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away August 25, 2016 at the family home in Pinehurst, Idaho. She was born January 9, 1924 in Zincville, Oklahoma. Alice was the daughter of Jake and Esther (Harper) Lowery.
Alice was united in marriage to Quill McBrien on February 8th 1941 in Joplin Missouri. Together they began raising a family and moving throughout the United States for work. In 1955 they settled in Pinehurst, Idaho where Quill built the family home.
Alice was a homemaker staying busy raising her four children. She loved spending time in the garden and enjoyed canning. She also was a fan of old sitcoms and western movies. She also enjoyed crocheting, making afghans and was an avid reader.
Alice enjoyed her children and loved cooking special things for them and Quill. She was willing to teach younger women about cooking and was encouraging in every aspect. Alice and Quill were blessed with good neighbors. They had over 55 years of laugher and playing cards with the Winklers next door.
Alice is survived by her three children Patsy Ritchie of Dayton, OH, Billie Stewart (Donald) of Columbus, MT and Morris McBrien (Roger). She is also survived by her grandchildren Mike Peterson (Brenda) of Pinehurst, ID, Lisa Kem (Chip) of Columbus, MT, Teresa Peterson (Greg) of Kellogg, ID, Don Stewart (Bridget) of Dayton, NV, Bronda Baldwin of Vacaville, CA, Ron Stewart (Dawn) of Mullan, Idaho, Colleen Ryker (Brent) of Columbus, MT, Dody Johnson (Scott) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Elizabeth Kirkland (Charles) of Florida, Debbie Ritchie of Dayton, OH, Travis McBrien (Stacy), Christine McBrien, Jacob McBrien and Mia McBrien. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews and her dog Cuddles. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Quill, siblings Jakie, Arie, Archie, Elsie, Louie Louise, Fannie, her sons Irvin, Quill Leroy and granddaughter Tracy.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday August 30, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ben Sheppard officiating. A potluck reception will be held at the Kellogg Elks following the interment at Shoshone Memorial Gardens.
