Loving husband, father and grandfather, Alfred Lee Wattula, 85, of Elizabeth Park, Idaho, passed away August 30, 2014 at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg. He was born November 5, 1928 in Forbes, North Dakota; Alfred was the son of John and Matilda (Miller) Wattula.
Alfred grew up in Butte, Montana before moving to the Silver Valley.
Alfred was a miner, he had worked for several mines including the Sunshine Mine here in the Silver Valley. He also served in construction and helped to build the Grand Coulee Dam in Washington.
On July 14, 1984, Alfred was united in marriage to Karen Fristo in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.
Alfred loved and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing and watching football- he was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan, as well as, a Seattle Mariners fan.
Alfred is survived by his wife Karen of Elizabeth Park; four children Lori Koutsoukis, of Seattle, Washington, Shelly (Jeff) Blakney, of Post Falls, Idaho, Tanya Martinson, of Barnesville, Minnesota Kanda Wattula, of Oregon and Chay Wattula of Washington; he is also survived by six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents and his eleven brothers and sisters.
Cremation was held upon Alfred’s request.
