Alecia Theresa (Derbyshire) Arthur, 37
Alecia Theresa (Derbyshire) Arthur, 37, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away October 13, 2016. She was born September 10, 1979 in Spokane, Washington; Alecia is the daughter of James L. and Penny J. (Eaton) Derbyshire.
Alecia attended and graduated from the Kellogg High School in 1997. While attending Kellogg High, Alecia was in the top of her ROTC class and was known as a great marksman; she also went to state every year in track and field. Alecia was also the second woman boxer in the Silver Valley and was coached under John Hill. She went on to further her education and attended the North Idaho College.
Alecia married Chris Arthur on August 26, 2004, in Mullan, Idaho.
Alecia had first served as a Certified Nurses Aide for Loving Care & More. Presently, she worked for Lucky Friday Mine as night security; she loved geology and was hoping to work in the geology department at the Lucky Friday. Alecia always had the utmost concern for the welfare of the miners. She also served as co-owner and manager of JAS Janitorial of Kellogg.
Alecia was very proud of her Indian heritage, as well as, being a Mullanite. In her earlier years, she enjoyed fishing and hunting with her Dad. Alecia also loved and enjoyed her dogs, four-wheeling, participating in car shows, the outdoors, waterfalls and she appreciated good etiquette.
Alecia is survived by her husband Chris Arthur of Kellogg, Idaho; her step-son Braden Arthur of Harrison, Idaho; her parents Jim and Penny Derbyshire of Kellogg, Idaho; her father and mother-in-law Cliff and Nancy Arthur of Mullan, Idaho; two sisters Jennifer (Shaun) Wilkerson of Spanaway, Washington, Sarah (Kelly) Burkgart of Tacoma, Washington; her nieces and nephews Kayla Walsh, Issac Wilkerson, Jacob Wilkerson and Audrey Burkgart; a great-nephew Benjamin Walsh; several aunts, uncles and cousins and her many dear friends whom she considered as her extended family; her beloved dogs Tank, Remmy, Nipque and Bronx. Alecia was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Church Of Christ Congregational of Wallace, Idaho with Pastor Alice Ling officiating. A reception and a gathering of family and friends will be held in the Church Fellowship Hall following services; this will be potluck and everyone is welcome.
