Steven Kent Kuykendall, 64

Steven Kent Kuykendall, 64 of Smelterville, Idaho passed away on April 29, 2019 at Kootenai Medical Center. He was the son of James and Carmen (Brown) Kuykendall.

Steve was a lifelong resident of the Silver Valley.

Steve was united in marriage to Barbara Westfall in 1985, they later divorced.

Things Steve loved the most, was spending time with his mate, Marilyn Marek, his children, and his grandchildren. He especially loved working on cars with his children Steve enjoyed planting Morning Glory’s and working on his garden. Steve also had a knack for cooking and was famous for his potato soup.

In his younger years, Steve would quit smoking for the summer, just to be able to jump off of the Silver Bridge; a favorite family memory of him.

As a young man, he worked at Hanford and Lamb Westen in Richland, Washington.

Steve is survived by his mate, Marilyn Marek; his children, Alisha Kuykendall, Richard Jr. Kuykendall, Scott Kuykendall, Jolene (Brian) Williams; his sisters Diana Waldvogel of Post Falls, Cheryl (Ben) Baker Davis of Kennewick, Washington; and his brothers, Russel Kuykendall of the Silver Valley and Jem and Ceclia Cochran of Pomeroy, Washington; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his many friends. Steve was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Carmen Kuykendall, two brothers, Dana and Kevin Kuykendall, and his first wife, Lenice Scott.

Steve will be greatly missed.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
