Richard “Rich” L. Edwards, 76

Richard “Rich” L. Edwards, 76, of Elizabeth Park- Kellogg, passed away August 28, 2019 at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg, Idaho.  He was born January 11, 1943 in Kellogg; Rich was the son of Henry “Campy” and Alice (Ryckman) Edwards.

Rich has been a life-long resident of the Silver Valley.  He attended and graduated from the Kellogg High School in 1961.  Rich then entered and proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ranger air craft carrier during the Viet Nam era.  After serving in the Navy, he returned home and attended the Norh Idaho College studying telecommunications.

Rich married Rosie Alexander on November 13, 1982 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.

Rich had worked for GTE and Verizon for thirty plus years before retirement.

Rich was a member of the Kellogg Elks #1841 and a member of the Comancheros Car Club.  He loved and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, wood-working and working in his shop, classic cars, boats, Coeur d’ Alene Lake and his dogs.

Rich is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years Rosie Edwards of the family home of Elizabeth Park; one son Geoff (Karen) Lyons of Bellevue, Washington; three grandchildren Theresa Waller of Boise, Idaho, Holdyn Williams also of Boise and Keegan Lyons of Bellevue, Washington; one sister Gail (Ron) Young of Kingston, Idaho; his mother-in-law Betty Alexander of Kellogg, Idaho;  two nieces Jody (Dick) Coxon, Jill  (Denny)  Kuisti and one nephew Jay Young; and his beloved dog Moksee.  Rich was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Stacey Lyons.

Upon Rich’s request, no services will be held.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, Tennessee 38101-9908 or to the charity of the Donor’s choice.
